Perras Lumber was founded in 1974 by Real and Alice Perras. It is located in Northumberland, NH. In 1980, the Perras family decided to expand its sawmill operation by opening a retail lumber yard including an Ace Hardware franchise. Perras Lumber was the first Ace Hardware to open its doors in New Hampshire.

Perras Lumber, the sawmill division of the company, specializes in wholesale lumber, a pallet operation and rough lumber for its retail outlet. Perras Lumber includes three sawing operations under one roof. In 2001 the company split into two seperate companies. The mill remains Perras Lumber Inc. and is owned by Real & Alice's son Robert, and the hardware store became Perras Ace Inc. and is owned by Robert's sisters Louise & Susie

Future plans include a sawdust boiler to heat the mill, and possibly run a kiln.
